WELCOME

I’m glad you found the time to come by, and you have a chance to visit. I’m happy you’re here. Please feel free to look around.

The unique characteristic about watercolors is in the execution. Other media such as oil paint or acrylic paint or pastels or pen & ink are all opaque. They’re used to cover the canvas or paper. With watercolor paint I use the white of the paper together with the translucency of the paint. The first impression is of a singular and special appearance. When done well you tell immediately a watercolor from any other media. What you will discover here is the uncommon and almost idiosyncratic look of this sui generis water medium. So, take a look-see at the two categories listed below.

The genesis of these still lifes was born from my refrigerator. In looking for objects for a watercolor series I decided on what fruits I had in the crisper. I also had this idea in mind when I went grocery shopping. So, I’d go to the supermarket with a dual purpose: I’d find some art objects as well as something good to eat.
